Depression and Anxiety

Hypnotherapy for Depression

Often when people feel low it quickly eases and they go back to feeling like themselves again. However, for some this low mood persists and affects everyday life.

You may struggle to carry out day-to-day activities and lose interest in those things that you used to find enjoyable. You could be having trouble with concentrating, low self-confidence and lacking energy.

Hypnotherapy as a treatment for depression can help you.  Rather than treat the symptoms of depression, I aim to tackle the triggers lead to your depression so you can unpick them and move on successfully.

When the root cause of your depression has been addressed, Suggestion can be used to encourage a more positive mindset. These suggestions can help with low energy and sleeping difficulties and help you feel more like your usual self.

Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness and fear that may cause you to feel tense, have tightness in your chest and experience a rapid heartbeat. Those with anxiety disorders have anxiety that does not go away. It can interfere with your daily life and can leave you feeling overwhelmed. Hypnosis alongside EMDR has has also been very successful with many clients who I have worked with, and we can discuss the best suite of intervention for you.

Hypnosis can help with anxiety because it eases you into a relaxed and calm state whilst identifying and dealing with the source of the problem.

Hypnotherapy has been proven to be especially successful with anxiety.  In a 2017 review of 20 studies found that hypnosis has a significant, immediate, and prolonged effect on anxiety in people with cancer. It was especially beneficial for those with procedure-related anxiety. The study also showed that hypnosis delivered by a therapist was significantly more effective than self-hypnosis.
